Lelet was started as a barrette company. I have since branched out into other kinds of accessories but I will always have an affinity for making barrettes. Creating these clips remind me of the architectural models we constructed in school. Steady hands are a must , and attention to detail is what makes the barrettes so unique.

Lelet's Packaging

The Packaging for Lelet's soft headbands is one of my favorite accomplishments. I set out to create a package that would look great as a gift, and be practical at the same time. I love all things translucent, so the material, an extremely thin Plexiglas, was an easy choice.
As for attaching the fabulous bands to their packaging I thought back to a class I took my first year in Parsons. We had an assignment to create a shoe out of paper that would hold our weight. The catch was that we were not allowed to use glue, tape or any other fixative. The shoe had to be constructed using slits and tabs in the paper..... no easy task.
So when it came to housing Lelet's soft bands I made some strategic slits in my material and voila!
Lelet packaging was born.
These make great little gifts for new mothers or favors for birthday parties.
